After many long months…Episode 1 - MP3

September 3, 2008 on 1:30 pm | In MP3 Feed, Podcast |

I know it has been way too long, and I promise not to go this long in the future, but here is episode 1. It was recorded in May, when I was in Geneva. It is a short discussion of fixing the Debian OpenSSL vulnerability beyond upgrading the packages. Maybe a bit dated, but still good information. Now that my SAP training and traveling is over (I was on the road three weeks of August), I can hopefully get on a more regular schedule.

  1. Congrats on the first podcast — at last! I look forward to more.

  2. Good show. Audio quality was excellent (at least in my speakers).

I was caught in this debian open-ssh flaw. All my keys except one were compromised (one very old computer). One server that I administer had several of it’s keys also compromised.

Is it possible that someone had already noticed this bug and had entered freely in several servers?

Thanks for the great work in producing the podcast.

  3. Nice podcast.
I think however that I would reduce the amount of “technical steps” on the podcast: following a list of specific Linux commands to execute is not easy.

    Waiting for the next one…

    cheers,
    mc
